Artichoke Annie's Antique Mall

I adore this garden-themed booth at Artichoke Annie's in Columbia, MO! This antique mall is chock full of thoughtful and well-organized booths, but this one is my favorite. :)

Old Towne Antiques

Beth here, taking over Francis's antique store review blog. I was out in rural Missouri antiquing this afternoon and I decided to revive Penguin Ice Bucket to showcase the best of the best. If you spend a lot of time in antique malls, you develop an eye for which booths are junk and which are carefully curated. I have a great appreciation for those folks who put in some extra effort to make their space special. My favorite antique mall in the entire state is Old Towne Antiques in Doolittle, MO, and my favorite booth in all the state is this one:

I don't quilt, or even sew much of anything these days, but these careful bundles of pencil eighths and fat quarters, plus notions and kits, just make me swoon every time. I love this booth more than anything. BRAVO! If you see your booth featured here on Penguin Ice Bucket and you have a website, Etsy shop, or Facebook page you want us to link to, leave a comment!

Big Bend Antique Gallery

One of two antique galleries right next to each other, Big Bend has the perfect feel of a dump with lots of treasures. The big draw is the large about of china and drinking glasses present, spanning many decades of style. They also offer china matching in case you have some plates you just can't seem to find anywhere else.

There's some great furniture and random things you can find here. The front area is filled with the better looking furniture while the back warehouse opens into a bunch of booths with your normal antique mall fare.

If you see any patterns you like, chances are they have large sets of all kinds of china. If not, they can help you find what you need.

St. Mary's Antique Mall

St. Mary's Antique Mall located in St. Mary, Missouri can be a bit of a bear to get to, but don't let the location turn you off from the place. Nestled in the center of this small Midwest town, St. Mary's is another member of the Missouri Antique Mall circle with South County, St. Charles, etc.

First thing you'll notice is the size of the place. Seriously, you'll need to block off a couple hours to properly peruse the selections you have here. It's a great mixture of all things Americana.

Things to look for here: Glassware. We got ourselves champagne coups for New Years Eve and a new punch bowl for pretty cheap.

All things Harley Davidson

Warson Woods

Another well established Antique Mall, Warson Woods is the place to go if you are looking to drop some serious money for some great stuff. Be warned though, it feels as though many of the people with booths in Warson Woods feel they can jump prices up on some of their items.

Case in point, Penguin Ice Buckets usually go between $15 to $25 anywhere else, but here you'll pay $35.

I can't say it is complete correlation, but I will tell you to do some research before you buy some things here.

Great selection of old books as soon as you walk in to the right

I will say Warson Woods has some of the best displays and products you will fine. Great furniture selection and everything is laid out very nice.

I've been collecting vintage barware. This was a difficult case to pass without buying anything.

For all your mancave needs

A bust of Julius Cesar for some reason.

Interesting animal parts. This case used to have a stuffed lion head, but I suppose it's been sold off. Shame though. It was one of my favorite things to come see.

Great place to spend some time, even if you aren't looking for high dollar antiques.

South County Antique Mall

First post, why not start with my favorite antique mall? The South County Antique Mall is a part of a network of antique malls in the St. Louis area. These generally don't have any kind of theme, but if you are looking for military memorabilia, I have yet to find as big a collection as this place.
